This is .

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

FT: PENALTIES!!!!!!

Wolves have done the unthinkable and held Manchester City to a goalless draw at the Etihad. We’re going to bring you those spot-kicks any moment now folks. Don’t move a muscle.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

27 (AET): Corner to Wolves! Is this the moment… Nope. City clear. It’s worth mentioning that Ilkay Gundogan is basically a passenger now. He’s tweaked his groin and City have made all their changes.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

25 (AET): City have five minutes to avoid penalties with Championship Wolves. This is getting seriously dramatic as Pep Guardiola’s side pour forward in search of a winner.

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH

FT: Arsenal have done it. Eddie Nketiah burst onto the scene with a brace to spare Arsene Wenger’s blushes.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

20 (AET): Kyle Walker on for Danilo. Good to see Pep Guardiola is making the most of the rule change to allow four substitutes added time.

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH

27 (AET): Arsenal are just three minutes from entering the quarter-finals. Norwich’s late charge has come to an abrupt end as the Gunners look to see this one out.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

HT (AET): No score in the first period of extra time. No goals at the Etihad in 105 minutes? Doesn’t sound right.

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH

25 (AET): Mathieu Debuchy is unbelievably lucky to get away with that! The Frenchman yanks Husband down inside the area and the referee completely ignores it. Norwich boss Daniel Farke is going crazy on the touchline.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

15 (AET): Blimey, How didn’t Manchester City score. The ball breaks kindly for Raheem Sterling, whose effort is blocked by his own player. Sergio Aguero the culprit.

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH

20 (AET): Norwich not ready to call time on their Carabao Cup hopes just yet. The Canaries are still throwing bodies forward but Macey charged out to keep Jerome at bay. Ten minutes remaining.

22:05: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: “We were in the game from the first minutes, pressing and forcing things, the attitude was good. Scott McTominay did very well, strong in the midfield. Axel Tuanzebe started maybe a little shaky, but then we got stability and he came into it.

"There were no injuries either, so it is a good day. I believe that Phil Jones will be fit for Saturday against Tottenham, but apart from that I have no news.”

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

6 (AET): Pep Guardiola makes a change six minutes into extra time. Leroy Sane replaces Bernado Silva. City gone nuclear on the Championship leaders.

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH

15 (AET): Eddie Nketiah (born May 1999) becomes the first player born after Arsene Wenger's 1996 appointment to score for the club. Nice little factoid for you there.

22:00: Manchester United star Jesse Lingard: "I thought we were in control. We had to put things right today. We have learned from the weekend and we want to move on.

"It was my first header in a long time, but I am just happy however they go in. It is always good to win trophies, especially this one which comes so early in the season."

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

AET: Manchester City couldn’t net against a resilient Wolves, and we’re about to enter extra time at the Etihad. Surely the result of the night?!

ARSENAL 2-1 NORWICH - NKETIAH

6 (AET): Steady Eddie at the ready! He's the Carabao Cup hero for Arsenal!

Having equalised in the dying minutes, the talented 18-year-old substitute has given the Gunners the lead in extra time.

Gunn saves brilliantly from Walcott to force a corner, and Nketiah leaps highest to convert.

5 (AET): Arsenal and Norwich are five minutes into extra-time. We could have penalties at the Emirates this evening if nothing changes.

TWITTER ROUND-UP

David: Tuanzebe is outstanding again tonight. Ridiculous talent.

Neil: Always confident we'd win that. Most pleasing part was the performance. Played well throughout, controlled the game.

Tom: Tuanzebe is a class act. A strong, commanding performance. Excellent distribution, positioning and composure.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 WOLVES

83: Not sure what’s happened to Manchester City tonight. They have just brought Kevin De Bruyne on for the final eight minutes of normal time. Still, you would have expected them to do the business with Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Jesus and Raheem Sterling on the pitch.

FT: And that’s it folks. Manchester United progress to the quarter-final stage with relative ease against a pretty underwhelming Swansea. Jesse Lingard netted a double to maintain is excellent run in the Carabao Cup. I’ll bring you all the other results shortly, and reaction to tonight’s game at the Liberty.

THREE MINUTES ADDED TIME

89: Manchester United probing from left to right with Romelu Lukaku looking to add his name to the scoresheet, but nothing’s dropping his way. This game is utterly dead.

87: Luke Shaw gets around five minutes. Jose Mourinho brings him on for Anthony Martial. How generous…

GOAL UPDATE

86: Arsenal have equalised through Nketiah, who came on as a substitute for Nelson. Might have been his first touch actually. It's 1-1 at the Emirates.

85: Lingard for the hat-trick… nope. He makes himself a few yards before striking straight at Nordfeldt. The only hat-trick he’s ever got was during his days on loan with Birmingham.

GOAL UPDATE

82: Norwich are closing in on a very famous win over Arsenal at the Emirates. They’ve got less than 10 minutes to survive with a one-goal lead. Wolves aren’t doing bad either. They are still 0-0 against Pep Guardiola’s side. Middlesbrough look like they’re heading out against Bournemouth. 3-1 to the Cherries after a Wilson and Afobe netted late goals.

80: Tottenham are next up for Manchester United. Slightly different test for them on Saturday, but Jose Mourinho will be pleased with their reparations tonight.

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & CityGETTY

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & City

77: Tuanzebe is booked for clattering into Ayew. Clucas is standing over it… Ayew nicks it of him and tamely shoots straight at Romero.

76: Not much coming from Swansea, and I’m starting to suspect there won’t be. Tammy Abraham is on for McBurnie, and just tested Romero with a long-ranger. Comfortably saved.

GOAL UPDATE

74: Leicester are 2-1 up against Championship Leeds thanks to Slimani, Bournemouth are level at 1-1 with Middlesbrough, and Bristol City are giving Roy Hodgson a night to forget. They are 4-1 ahead. Manchester City still goalless at the Etihad.

71: Quite some miss that. Tuanzebe slides in to tuck home Smalling’s knock-down from close range, but he’s spooned it over. He was under a bit of pressure in fairness.

68: Ch-Ch-Changes. Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic replace Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford. Meanwhile Paul Clement replaces Roque with Leroy Fer.

66: Axel Tuanzebe looks a real prospect. Confident, quick, comfortable on the ball and a real intelligence to his game. Not my words folks, the words of Gary Lineker.

63: Where’s the mercy? Jose Mourinho is preparing to bring on Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.

61: Daley Blind’s neat through ball almost provides Jesse Lingard with his hat-trick, but he’s flashed it across goal.

SWANSEA 0-2 MANCHESTER UNITED - LINGARD

59: Did I say anything could happen? Well, anything other than a Manchester United win is highly unlikely.

Tuanzebe is the architect after bringing the ball out from defence. He sweeps a ball over to Darmian, who crosses for Lingard to head home from just inside the penalty area.

Cracking header that should see Jose Mourinho’s side into the quarter-final draw.

58: Could have been 2-0. Marcus Rashford whips one into the corridor of uncertainty, but Anthony Martial can’t quite connect.

Manchester United in complete control here. But while the scoreline is 1-0 - anything could happen.

57: Wow! The lesser-spotted Luke Shaw has just been asked to warm up. Looks like he’s going to get some minutes. Either that or Jose Mourinho is taking part in some very mean banter.

56: Pretty dull start to the second-half truth be told. Neither side have settled into a rhythm, but I guess the onus is on Swansea to create something.

55: Close! Manchester United spring a lightning-quick counter with Jesse Lingard inches from teeing up Anthony Martial. The decibel level rises as Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku are sent out to warm up on the sidelines.

GOAL UPDATE

53: Manchester City are 0-0 with Championship leaders Wolves at the break. Elsewhere Bournemouth have taken the lead against Middlesbrough at Dean Court. Jack Simpson got the goal.

50: Early corner for Swansea. Clucas to deliver… away by McTominay. You would imagine Paul Clement will give it 10/15 minutes before throwing Tammy Abraham into the mix. Roque has barely touched the ball tonight.

47: Bad start for the Red Devils. Anthony Martial falls awkwardly after a challenge with Rangel. The medical staff are on the pitch, but I’m not sure he’ll continue.

SWANSEA 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED

45: We’re back underway folks. Not managers have resisted the urge to make any changes. Fingers crossed we get a more exciting second-half.

TWITTER ROUND-UP

Arun: Lindelof & Smalling are giving me heart attacks! Tuanzebe looks the most comfortable! Decent half! Have to score again to kill the tie.

Matthew: Lindelof all over the place again, think we all have to admit we have got it wrong signing him.

Chris: Overall. Not much better than what was on show vs Scousers/Benfica/Huddersfield.

HT: The lively McBurnie shoots over just before the whistle. And that’s the break. Manchester United lead Swansea 1-0 with League Cup specialist Jesse Lingard’s goal proving the difference.

ONE MINUTE ADDED TIME

44: Sam Clucas sets himself before bending a shot just wide of the post. Not stamped his mark on this Swansea side since joining from relegated Hull.

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & CityREUTERS

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & City

43: It’s quite clear to see Swansea’s problem. They’re tidy in possession without ever really delivering a killer ball. Sergio Romero enjoyed a fairly easy night.

Anthony Martial reaches the byline before cutting it back to McTominay on the edge of the area, but his first-time strike flies over.

41: It’s Swansea’s turn to defend a free-kick from the left touchline. McTominay rises highest but nobody was there to collect the second ball.

38: Chaos in the Manchester United penalty area as Jose Mourinho’s side fail to clear a free-kick. The ball drops kindly for Ki, but the midfielder delays his shot and swiftly finds himself without possession.

Swansea make a change as the injured Olsson is forced off. Kyle Naughton replaces him.

GOAL UPDATE…

35: Goal for Bristol City. Matty Taylor from close range. They are now 1-1 with Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace. Leicester have also equalised against Leeds through Kelechi Iheanacho.

But the big news is that Norwich are beating Arsenal! Arsene Wenger’s 11 changes could come back to haunt him as Josh Murphy nets the opener.

35: Swansea are enjoying themselves a little more now. They feel like they should have been awarded a penalty when Tuanzebe and Routledge collided in the box, but it was a 50/50 all day long.

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & CityREUTERS

32: Almost a painfully embarrassing own goal from Daley Blind, whose defensive header ricochets into McBurnie and flies narrowly wide of Romero's post.

GOAL UPDATE…

30: Crystal Palace have taken the lead against Bristol City. Bakary Sako got that one. And there’s an upset on the cards because Leeds are 1-0 up against Premier League Leicester.

27: Manchester United continue to boss proceedings here at the Liberty. Incidentally, three of Jesse Lingard's last four United goals have been scored in the League Cup.

24: How have Swansea responded? Well they haven’t really. The early goal looks to have settled any lingering nerves for Jose Mourinho’s side.

SWANSEA 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED - LINGARD

21: Cracking finish from Jesse Lingard. Cool as a cucumber.

Manchester United have taken the lead seconds after me writing that Paul Clement would be pleased… commentators curse.

Herrera drills a pass to Rashford, whose neat flick sends Lingard through one-on-one with Nordfeldt, and the winger cooly curls it into the bottom right-hand corner.

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & CityREUTERS

Swansea vs Manchester United LIVE: Carabao Cup latest scores including Arsenal & City

20: Danger! Ki concedes a needless free-kick on the left flank. Marcus Rashford to deliver… cleared. He’s got one hell of a delivery on him. Overall, I think Paul Clement will be pleased with what he’s seen. Compact.

19: There’s been no goals in the rest of tonight’s fixtures so far folks. Although a Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus stacked Manchester City have only just kicked off.

18: Hmmmmm, I don’t want to sound like I’m picking on Victor Lindelof, but the defender looks far from convincing. He’s just allowed Ayew to drive into the area and test Romero.

15: The travelling Manchester United supporters are really making themselves heard tonight, but they just fell silent.

Olsson’s cross found Wayne Routledge in the six-yard box, but Sergio Romero was equal to it. Normal levels have been resumed…

12: Romero is confident. Perhaps too confident. The goalkeeper produces a Cruyff turn to leave McBurnie on his bottom. Nobody’s stamped their mark on this one yet.

9: Nice early sighter for Jesse Lingard. The winger makes himself a few yards before forcing Nordfeldt to tip a 20-yard strike over the bar.

6: Pretty even start to proceedings here. Swansea are doing a good job of keeping possession without really threatening.

3: First chance of the evening goes to tonight’s captain, Chris Smalling. The centre-back is using Alfie Mawson as a ladder, and manages to send a header wide of the post.

Innovation, eh?

TWITTER ROUND-UP

Fergus: Interesting line up... Hope Jose Mourinho gets a reaction out of them tonight, need to get back to winning ways.

Sharpe: Luke Shaw must have insulted Marouane Fellaini to not even start in this team. Jose Mourinho hates him!

Con: Lots of changes for Manchester United tonight. Not expecting a win. We're in a slump & I think it'll last a few games yet. Hopefully I'm wrong!

HUDDERSFIELD TEMPLATE…

19:30: Swansea aim to seize on Manchester United's defensive problems tonight, and have studied Saturday’s match at the John Smith’s Stadium for inspiration.

United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield on Saturday - their first in the Premier League this season - when the Terriers exposed a hastily-assembled centre-back partnership.

And Clement senses an opportunity.

He said: “We've looked at the Huddersfield game and I've spoken about that with the players. I've told them any team can be vulnerable at any moment, and we've got to make sure we do our bit right.

"They can't make massive changes because they've got injury issues. But we know that whoever they put on the pitch they're going to be good."

“WE ARE TALKING FACTS”

19:27: Arsenal have won 26 of their last 29 League Cup home games against sides from a lower division.

Manchester United have lost five of their last six League Cup away trips to top-flight opposition (W1).

ELSEWHERE IN THE CUP

19:25: Although we’re focusing on events at the Liberty tonight, we’ll be keeping you updated with the goals as they go in elsewhere.

The rest of the fixtures look something like this;

Arsenal vs Norwich, Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough, Bristol City vs Crystal Palace, Leicester vs Leeds, Manchester City vs Wolves.

Premier League clean sweep? It pays 17/1… Not that I’ve won a bet since the summer of ’08.

GIGGS DECLARES INTEREST

19:20: Anyone else think this is a touch presumptuous? I’ve declared my interest but nobody seems to be taking me seriously.

Anyway, this is the story that Former Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs is interested in the Leicester and Everton jobs.

Both Premier League positions are vacant after Leicester sacked Craig Shakespeare last week and the Toffees fired Ronald Koeman for their poor start to the season yesterday.

Giggs is looking to get into management following his stint as Louis van Gaal's number two at Old Trafford, having been interviewed for the job at Swansea last season, and fancies either role.

Should either of them gamble on Giggs? Let me know!

MANCHESTER CITY vs WOLVES

19:05: Apparently this is an under-strength Manchester City side. Judge for yourselves.

Manchester City XI: Bravo, Danilo, Mangala, Adarabioyo, Zinchenko, Bernardo, Toure, Sterling, Gundogan, Aguero, Jesus.

Subs: Ederson, Walker, Stones, De Bruyne, Delph, Sane, Nmecha.

Wolves XI: Norris, Batth, Coady, Hause, Bennett, Vinagre, N'Diaye, Price, Marshall, Costa, Enobakhare.

Subs: Burgoyne, Doherty, Cavaleiro, Ronan, Miranda, Deslandes, Bonatini.

TEAM NEWS - ARSENAL

19:00: It wouldn’t be the League Cup without Arsene Wenger making a million changes.

And true to form, that’s exactly what he’s done.

The Frenchman has made 11 changes from the team who destroyed Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Olivier Giroud, fresh from his stunning overhead kick, starts ahead of Alexandre Lacazette in attack with Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott his supporting staff.

Jack Wilshere is once again on the team sheet, as is Matt Macey, who makes his Arsenal debut as back-up goalkeeper in the absence of David Ospina.

TEAM NEWS - MANCHESTER UNITED

18:55: Jose Mourinho has shuffled his pack for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash in Wales.

Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera are the only survivors from Saturday’s defeat.

Academy products Alex Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay start for Manchester United, as does Victor Lindelof, who came off the bench for the injured Phil Jones.

Mourinho has shown faith in the Sweden international after struggling at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Luke Shaw makes the bench, alongside first-team regulars Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Paul Clement has made eight changes to his starting XI with £11million summer arrival Roque Mesa starting in attack.

TEAM NEWS KLAXON

18:40: Just a few minutes until those starting XI’s are revealed folks. Stay tuned because I believe Jose has made a raft of changes.

WHAT IS CARABAO?

18:35: After some extensive Googling, and a few computer-related tantrums, I can reveal that Carabao is an energy drink.

It’s Thailand’s second most popular energy drink, behind another beverage called M-150 (which sounds like a ballistic missile) and tastes like Calpol.

Apparently it’s on sale in England although I’ve never bought it during my 3am drunken raids.

EVENING

18:30: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Swansea vs Manchester United from the Liberty Stadium.

It’s Carabao Cup night, which means all over the world people will be asking two questions.

Firstly, what the hell is a Carabao?

And secondly, which fringe players will impress tonight?

I’m happy to say that I have the answers, and plenty more irrelevant information to share with you over the next few hours.

Let’s get going!

SWANSEA vs MANCHESTER UNITED - PREVIEW

Roque Mesa will start Swansea's Carabao Cup tie at home to Manchester United tonight.

Mesa has started only three times since his £11million summer move from Las Palmas, but Swansea head coach Paul Clement confirmed that the midfielder will line up against United.

Renato Sanches (thigh) is unavailable after joining Wilfried Bony (hamstring) and Kyle Bartley on the casualty list, while goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is set to be rested.

Manchester United Victor Lindelof will be hoping his display against Huddersfield does not cost him a starting place tonight.

Lindelof did not impress after coming on for the injured Phil Jones during Saturday's defeat and Jose Mourinho could choose to look at Axel Tuanzebe.

Other changes are likely for the last-16 match, with Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Matteo Darmian, Sergio Romero and Daley Blind all under consideration.

Swansea provisional squad: Nordfeldt, Rangel, van der Hoorn, Mawson, Olsson, Mesa, Ki, Clucas, Dyer, Ayew, Abraham, Mulder, Naughton, Fernandez, Britton, Carroll, Narsingh, Fulton, Routledge, McBurnie.

Manchester United provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Pereira, Valencia, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Young, Matic, Herrera, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial.
