Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger spoke highly of teenager Eddie Nketiah in the past, saying: "I like the quality of Eddie’s movement, the quality of the areas he gets into, his strength, his determination to finish things off and his work rate as well."

1. Nketiah started his career at Chelsea but was released in 2015 and snapped up by Arsenal.

2. Nketiah, born in 1999, is the first player born after Wenger was appointed Arsenal manager to score for the club.

In September 2016, he signed a new long-term deal with Arsenal and said: “I achieved the contract through working hard and trying to keep improving, and as a professional that’s something that I’m determined to keep doing because it takes me a step closer to the first team and I know how high the standards are.”

4. Last season, Nketiah made headlines with a hat-trick against Leicester for the under-23s.

5. Nketiah has been likened to Arsenal legend Ian Wright and he says the strength of his game is finishing. He said: "My game is mainly pace, movement and finishing. But I’ve made an effort to hold the ball up better which is something vital for the team and that Olivier Giroud does so well. I have also worked hard on my heading and have already scored three headed goals this season."

6. In 2015/16, Nketiah scored 24 goals. And in 2016/17, he scored 24 times in 35 appearances across various youth groups.

7. In March this year, Nketiah scored a hat-trick for England’s under-18s in a 4-0 victory against Qatar.
