Man Utd News: Jose Mourinho says he has changed since taking Chelsea job in 2004

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho celebrated his 400th game in English football this evening.

Mourinho oversaw Manchester United's comfortable 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Swansea this evening.

Jesse Lingard was the star, bagging a goal in either half as the Red Devils bounced back from the weekend's defeat to Huddersfield.

Mourinho first arrived on these shores 13 years ago, with the competition the springboard for a successful era at Chelsea.

And, speaking after the game against Swansea, Mourinho insisted he was a far more mature figure than the person he was all those years ago.

"Of course I still get the same thrill from it, but 2004 was along time ago," he told the BBC.

"I am more mature and have a different way to react to things."

Mourinho made an immediate impression when he first arrived in England.

Fresh from winning the Champions League at Porto, he dubbed himself 'The Special One' after succeeding Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Lingard insisted United had to win tonight following the weekend's defeat.

"I thought we were in control. We had to put things right today. We have learned from the weekend and we want to move on," he said.

"It was my first header in a long time, but I am just happy however they go in.

"It is always good to win trophies, especially this one which comes so early in the season."

United are next in action against Tottenham on Saturday (12.30pm).
