Man Utd news: Training ground is like a ‘morgue’ as player morale hits a new low

MANCHESTER UNITED’S training ground has been labelled a “morgue” as the squad morale is said to have hit a new low.

Pearce: Mourinho using tactic by publicly criticising players

According to the Sun, the players have taken the recent bad run hard, especially after losing to Premier League minnows Huddersfield on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s side have fallen away from the blistering pace which they started the season.

They now trail league-leaders Manchester City by five points with eight games gone.

And news leaking out about a depressing training ground environment will only compound more misery on the Red Devils.

The atmosphere at the training ground is the lowest it has been since Jose joined the club.

A club source told the Sun

"The atmosphere at the training ground is the lowest it has been since Jose joined the club,” a source told the Sun.

"Something isn’t right. We wonder whether his comments about Paris and not staying long term has also had an impact.

"The players have been pretty quiet since the Liverpool game and a lot less banter has been going on.

"It’s dropped off a cliff since Huddersfield. Not having Pogba’s presence is always not going to help, as he is so bubbly.

Mourinho must try to pick up the morale of his squad

"The canteen is like a morgue and there is certainly a feeling that the manager is ready to tell a few home truths."

The negative news leaking out of their Carrington training complex will only add to the pressure building on Mourinho.

The Portuguese boss recently refused to rule out managing Paris Saint-German in the future, after insisting he will not finish his career at Old Trafford.
