Chelsea news: Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas predicts which player will hurt Everton

CHELSEA striker Michy Batshuayi will put Everton to the sword tonight (7.45pm).

Batshuayi scores magnificent goals during Chelsea training

That’s the verdict of former Arsenal star turned Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas, who’s backed the Blues to win 2-0.

Batshuayi has experienced a mixed spell since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Ligue 1 giants Marseille last summer.

The forward was handed few chances by Antonio Conte during the 2016/17 campaign, but did score their title-winning goal.

Batshuayi has found himself second-choice at Chelsea once again this term, behind Alvaro Morata this time around.

However, he’s likely to be afforded the opportunity to shine when the Blues face Everton in the Carabao Cup.

Nicholas has now offered his take on how both sides will approach the match, including a special mention for Batshuayi.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: "Do Everton rest players or try to build something here?

"I think they are just going to Stamford Bridge looking to avoid embarrassment.

"Chelsea aren't playing well at all, though.

"While Antonio Conte clearly doesn't fancy Michy Batshuayi, he needs him right now and I think the Belgian striker will inflict yet another defeat on the Toffees."

Chelsea return to Premier League action when they visit Bournemouth on Saturday (5.30pm).
