Man Utd news: Outcast must leave because of Jose Mourinho - Steve Nicol

MANCHESTER UNITED left-back Luke Shaw must look to leave the club because he will not get a chance under Jose Mourinho.

Steve Nicol says outcast Luke Shaw must leave Man United

That is the view of former Liverpool defender and ESPN FC pundit Steve Nicol.

Shaw has made just two appearances for Manchester United so far this season.

They have both come in the Carabao Cup, but he was only used as an 87th minute substitute in the 2-0 win over Swansea last night.

Mourinho has been public in his criticism of the Englishman in the past, questioning his desire.

And for that reason, Nicol says he must start to look for a new club.

Luke Shaw is a good player but he’s wasting his time at Manchester United

“He needs to go, he needs to leave,” he said.

“Listen, as soon as your manager is annihilated you in the press the way he got annihilated, you can forget about it.

“He’s a good player but he’s wasting his time at Manchester United.”

Nicol’s colleague Craig Burley agrees and Luke Shaw’s confidence has been destroyed by the horror leg break he suffered in 2015 and comments from Jose Mourinho.

“He’s a good player, he is a good player,” the ex-Chelsea midfielder said of Luke Shaw.

“Don’t forget he had a horrendous leg break, so it isn’t easy.

“You don’t really want to be thrown under the bus by your manager coming back from that, it doesn’t help.

“It looks as if he’s completely lost confidence. Going to such a big club, injuries, manager doesn’t like you.”
