Tottenham starting XI equal to Man Utd and Chelsea, but title beyond them - Simon Jordan

TOTTENHAM have a very impressive starting XI, but they don’t have the strength in depth required to win the title.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino AMAZES fans during training

That is the verdict of former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan.

Tottenham were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last night by West Ham at Wembley.

In the league, Spurs have lost just once and face fellow title rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday (12.30pm).

But while recognising Mauricio Pochettino’s side strengths, he doesn’t think it will be enough for them to land a maiden Premier League crown.

“There was a lot of criticism at the start of the window for Spurs not signing players,” Jordan told Sky Sports’ Debate show.

“And it was because they were struggling to find anyone better to get into that starting XI than they have currently got.

“And it was because they were struggling to find anyone better to get into that starting XI than they have currently got.

“The idea they have as strong a squad as United, possibly Chelsea and City is the question.

“They are down to three trophies - they won’t win the league. They won’t win the Champions League and that leaves them with the FA Cup.

Simon Jordan thinks Tottenham don't have enough strength in depth to win the title

“It’s a shoot-out, it depends on the draw and how they feel about it.

“With the manager, they have the best manager in the country if not close to it.
