Wijnaldum fit to face Huddersfield

14.45: Georginio Wijnaldum will return to the Liverpool squad to face Huddersfield on Saturday (3pm).

The Dutch midfielder missed last weekend’s drubbing at Tottenham.

But he says he will be fit for the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium.

“The knee is good now,” the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood on Thursday.

“I was unlucky that in training before the game I had a kick on it, it was in a duel. Milner tried to shoot and I tried to block but I was a little bit late with my block, he’d already shot the ball and he swung his foot on the inside of my knee.

“At first it didn’t look like it was that bad, but after training I had more pain than during training and the day after, on Sunday before the game, I had a lot of pain. I could barely walk, so it was not possible to play.

“I’m still in a little bit of pain but I can play with it. I had full training yesterday and felt good so probably I can play.

“The manager decides if he’s going to put me in the first XI, but I will be available.”

Harry Wilson out to impress Klopp

12.52: Harry Wilson is hoping for a shot in the Liverpool fist team after impressing for the under-23s.

The 20-year-old has netted seven goals this season, with the latest coming in a 3-1 win over Manchester United on Monday.

“I came back in pre-season with the idea of trying to impress the manager only to pick up my injury, which was a pain for me,” Wilson told Liverpoolfc.com

“It taught me a lot mentally when I was out, and now I’m back and hoping to continue how I left off last season. It’s important to stay mentally strong so when your chance comes you have to take it.

“It was special to make my debut last season for the club I have played for since I was eight years old and I love, but I want more of that and I don’t just want it to be that one game.

“I want more of it and hopefully if I keep impressing for the under-23s I can get that.”

CEO Peter Moore blasts Liverpool fan

10.19: Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has slammed a supporter after he mimicked the club’s defensive crisis.

The Reds have the fifth-worst defensive record in the Premier League.

Moore, who took over the role in June, took to Twitter to congratulate youngster Ben Woodburn, who signed a five-year contract extension yesterday.

But one user responded with a witty response: “Maybe he can play centre back?” @duin11 wrote.

And that clearly hit a nerve with Moore, who replied: “Maybe you can (give) this young man the respect he deserves and not use this great day in his life to fuel whatever personal agenda you may have?”

Ings to Leeds?

10.05: Leeds are the bookies’ favourites to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

The 25-year-old, who has suffered two serious knee injuries in two years, has featured once this season.

According to bookmakers BetVictor, a move to Leeds is most likely on the cards for Ings.

But Ings is reportedly unwilling to drop down a division.

Jurgen Klopp was not happy with the defeat to Tottenham

Reds linked with Real Madrid legend Casillas

07.58: Liverpool are this morning being linked with Real Madrid’s legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Spanish publication El Pais believes the 36-year-old could be on his way out of Porto in January.

And it is reported that Liverpool will battle Newcastle for the veteran shot stopper.

The goalkeeping position has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s main problems this term and it is certain he will look to strengthen the area when the transfer window reopens in January.

Spurs inquest

07.44: Jurgen Klopp has held an inquest with his squad after the 4-1 drubbing at Tottenham.

Klopp held a team meeting on Monday where each of the Spurs goals were examined in detail.

And according to the Liverpool Echo, the players had an “open and honest exchange.”

It also says that players held their hands up and admitted their costly mistakes.
