A LIVERPOOL supporter has been slammed by the club’s chief executive officer for mimicking the team’s defensive crisis.

The Reds have conceded 16 goals in nine Premier League outings this campaign - the fifth worst record in the division.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have come under heavy scrutiny for their defensive displays which leave them ninth in the table.

And it is proving a touchy subject with the Liverpool hierarchy too, as CEO Moore hit back at supporters.

Moore, who took over the role in June, took to Twitter to congratulate youngster Ben Woodburn, who signed a five-year contract extension yesterday.

But one user responded with a witty response: “Maybe he can play centre back?” @duin11 wrote.

And that clearly hit a nerve with Moore, who replied: “Maybe you can (give) this young man the respect he deserves and not use this great day in his life to fuel whatever personal agenda you may have?”

The outcry from a top Liverpool official underlines their concern with the Reds’ current problems.

The outrage will only heap more pressure on manager Klopp, too.

It is being reported this morning that Liverpool are chasing Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas to help cure the defensive crisis - with a move for the goalkeeper looking likely to happen in January.

But questions will now be raised to whether Klopp will still be in charge by then - with the boardroom’s patience clearly wearing thin.
