Man Utd News: Jose Mourinho reveals plan for future and puts England and Portugal on alert

Mourinho is currently in his second season at Manchester United and is aiming to land the club a first Premier League title since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, uncertainty has arisen over his Old Trafford future with the 54-year-old recently confirming he was yet to sign a contract extension.

Talk has also been rife that he could be set to manage Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, with Unai Emery’s position vulnerable over at the Parc des Princes.

But Jose Mourinho has now admitted he would love to manage an international team, in news that will no doubt alert the likes of Portugal and England. 

“There will be a moment in my career where I would prefer that nature of job, being more analytical and preparing a team inside doors but competes less," he told Sky Sports.

"The experience of living a World Cup or European Championship from the inside is an experience I want to have after so many years I've had in football."

Mourinho also stressed that the Premier League is United’s No1 priority for the campaign.

"For everyone, the Champions League is the 'El Dorado', it is something that normally means more than championships," he added.

"But I agree when people say that Championships are the ones that make you feel that the season was really great.

"It's a 10-month competition, it's a marathon of matches where you have to deal with all the good and the bad things of such a long run.

"I have won all four championships in which I've been involved and that's reason to be proud."

United can boost their chances of title glory when they face Tottenham this afternoon (12.30pm).

Mourinho will be hoping for a repeat of last season, where Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s strike secured an important three points.
