Arsenal 2 - Swansea 1: Kolasinac and Ramsey spark Gunners comeback

SOME fans might want his head, but there’s no denying Arsene Wenger’s incredible record as Arsenal boss.

He marked his 800th league game with a win that has become a trademark in recent seasons.

Arsenal dominated play only to fall behind against a lowly side hellbent on defending and relying on the odd breaks.

Then, true to form, they pulled a rabbit from the hat. Unsung Gunners heroes aplenty have appeared over the years and none more so yesterday than Bosnian man mountain Sead Kolasinac.

He scored to lead the fightback and then helped create another when it looked as if Arsenal had run out of ideas. Wenger praised the wing-back who is fast becoming a cult hero at the Emirates, saying: “It shows there are bargains out there if you are willing to look.

“Sead had adapted well because he is honest, works hard and has the body strength to combat the Premier League.

“He had a hip injury before the game and I wanted to rest him. He refused to stand down and that says a lot about him.”

Arsenal fell behind as Swansea launched their first attack on 22 minutes. Tammy Abraham shrugged off Laurent Koscielny, and from Mike van der Hoorn’s cross-fi eld pass slipped a glorious ball for Sam Clucas to dart in from the left to score.

The equaliser came from lovely build-up play and the ball rolled wide for Kolasinac to powerfully drive home in the 51st minute.

Kolasinac had a hand in Arsenal’s second six minutes later. Granit Xhaka swung over a cross and the Bosnian headed back across goal for Aaron Ramsey to turn it in.

Swansea boss Paul Clement said: “If we play like that again we will win more than we lose.”
