But United boast the best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding just four goals in 10 games.
While United haven’t always won plaudits for their style of play, Murphy thinks Mourinho should take some credit for his side’s mean defence.
“It’s not as easy as it looks to play defensive football and have the best defence in the Premier League and they have,” Murphy said on Match of the Day.
“It’s what you like watching. Not everybody is the same.”
