Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp promised HUGE transfer kitty in January

JURGEN KLOPP will reportedly have the full backing of the Liverpool board to spend all the money brought in from a potential Philippe Coutinho transfer on reinforcements.

Coutinho made it clear he wanted to leave Anfield in the summer after handing in a transfer request.

But Liverpool refused to budge despite Barcelona making three bids, with all offers knocked back.

The La Liga giants still want the Brazil international though and are rumoured to be readying a new bid in the New Year.

Coutinho has kept quiet regarding his future at Anfield since the close of the transfer window and it is expected he will leave the club before the start of next season.

But if a deal is done in January, the Sunday Mirror claim Klopp will be given the green light to spend all the cash on new players.

It is said Barcelona are prepared to offer £130million for the 25-year-old and they are confident of pushing through a move.

And the first player on Klopp’s wish-list will reportedly be Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, who themselves stood firm when Liverpool were heavily linked with a move in the last transfer window.

The south coast club are unlikely to accept any bid under the £70m asking price they set in the summer months.

Although the Mirror claim if Liverpool fetch £130m for Coutinho, they will have no problem spending that money with some left over to bring in a replacement for the playmaker.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as possible suitors with Neymar a huge incentive for Coutinho but Spanish reports have dismissed those claims.
