Arsenal News: Arsene Wenger wants to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger is keen on signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to reports in Spain.

Arsenal's Petr Cech shows off incredible hand skills in training

Arsenal thought they had the solution to their goalkeeping woes when they signed Petr Cech from Chelsea in the summer of 2015.

However, the 35-year-old has divided fans during his time in north London, with many considering him to be past his prime.

As a result, talk has intensified that Arsenal could be set to invest in a new shotstopper at the end of the current campaign.

And Spanish website Don Balon claims the Gunners are one of three European giants keen on signing Barcelona’s Ter Stegen.

The 25-year-old has been at the Nou Camp since signing from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2014.

He was initially understudy to Claudio Bravo but, after the Chilean joined Manchester City last term, has since made the step up to No1.

In the time since he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football, helping the Catalan giants win the Copa del Rey under Luis Enrique last term.

And that, it seems, has made him one of Arsenal’s No1 transfer targets for the end of the season.

Arsenal News: Marc-Andre ter Stegen could replace Petr Cech

However, Don Balon say the Gunners are not the only club keen on securing his signature.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also mulling over summer bids.

The Serie A giants signed Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal in the summer but Ter Stegen could still be a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon, who is set to retire.

PSG, meanwhile, want a fresh No1 with Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola not up to scratch.
