Liverpool take on Maribor tomorrow night aiming to take a giant step towards the Champions League knockout stages.

The Reds beat the European minnows 7-0 last time out, and a win tomorrow would be their second from four games.

Liverpool have won the prestigious tournament five times in their history, so fans will be expecting them to go far this year.

But Klopp insists Liverpool are purely focused on making it out of the group stages.

“Our aim is to get through this group stage. That’s it," he told reporters.

"So far we’ve had really good performances.

“Anfield should always be a fortress. That means we need to win our home games. We all want to go to the next round.”

“The last result between Moscow and Sevilla…everyone thought ‘oops’.

“Sevilla were really good but Promes played this night, a decisive player. He didn’t play against us."

Klopp was coy on the Reds' hopes of glory.

“In the Champions League, results side OK, performance side, very good," he said.

“You want to win it, is it possible? There are a number of good teams out there.”

Klopp would also take a 1-0 win over Maribor, despite hitting seven past them a fortnight ago.

"After 7-0 many may not respect Maribor, but we do," the German added.

“Maybe it’s a challenge for people to be 100% spot on, but my job is to make sure we are.

"Don’t think about the result, you should never think about the result before the game. If we win 1-0, that’s fine.

“We will be 100% focused."
