Arsenal news: Trabzonspor put £17.5m price tag on Arsene Wenger target Yusuf Yazici

Yusuf Yazici has been attracting interest from across Europe due to his fine performances for Trabzonspor.

Arsenal are said to be in the running for the attacking midfielder along with Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Sevilla.

The Gunners have reportedly already made a bid in the region of £14m for the 20-year-old.

However, Turkish outlet Fotomac claim Trabzonspor have put a £17.5m price tag on Yazici and will not accept any lower offers.

Yazici burst onto the scene at Trabzonspor last season following a long-term injury to Mehmet Ekici.

He went on to score six goals and provide 10 assists in 22 Super Lig games and is now a first-team regular for the Turkish side.

This term he has started all 10 league games, and scored in last week’s 2-1 win over Galatasaray.

Arsene Wenger is said to be a long-term admirer of Yazici and sees him as a potential replacement for the out-of-contract Mesut Ozil.

However, the Frenchman may have to wait before he can sign the midfielder after Trabzonspor chief Muharrem Usta admitted there were no immediate plans to sell.

“I want to see Yusuf here for our 50th year anniversary squad,” Usta said.

“He will be sold when the time is right, Yusuf will be an ambassador for the club and reach the highest level.”

Yazici is under contract until June 2022, having signed a new deal in March.
