Chelsea have been battered by Roma in the Champions League - dropping down to second in the group.

Stephan El Shaarawy grabbed two first half goals before another from Diego Perotti.

The defenders were all over the place and Antonio Rudiger has taken the brunt of criticism.

And Phil Neville labelled them shocking on the BBC live feed.

“Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard are outside of the box,” he said. “You're not going to score!

“I can't believe what I am seeing from Chelsea tonight. They are getting an absolute mauling tonight!

“The defenders have been shocking! This is not the Chelsea side we saw last season. They look all over the place now.”

Antonio Conte’s side have dropped to second in the group with their poor form continuing.

Chelsea have now won three in seven since beating Atletico Madrid.

And Frank Lampard was disappointed with Alvaro Morata.

“I’m a bit disappointed with Morata, he just needed a delicate touch," he said on BT Sport.

“He doesn't have to put his foot through that in that position.

“The Italians will defend now and now they’ll look to flip it on Chelsea and hit them on the counter attack.”
