"He is like dynamite when he comes on. Aggressive in the most positive way. Front foot always. Looking to attack and create.

Klopp on injuries

08:47: Jurgen Klopp has several injury concerns ahead of Liverpool's clash with Maribor in the Champions League this evening.

On Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren, Klopp said: "Not 100% sure. If they will be okay for tomorrow night, I don't know in this moment."

Klopp also admitted the medical team are keeping a close eye on Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino.

“We have to see. We have a session at 5pm," Klopp added.

"We will see who will be involved. I hope for both. If they will not train, especially in Dejan’s case, that does not mean he cannot play.

"We have a few little things, Roberto had a cramp, Joe felt a little bit. So we were really careful.

Alves agreement

08:00: Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves has revealed that he came agonisingly close to joining Liverpool.

While at Sevilla in 2006, the Brazilian claims he have had everything in place to swap sunny Spain for Merseyside.

Then-manager Rafael Benitez, just months after guiding the Reds to Champions League glory, agreed a £9million fee for the right-back, but he apparently decided to pull the plug at the final hour.

“I pretty much had an agreement with Liverpool,” Alves revealed to FourFourTwo.

“But for whatever reason it didn’t happen at the last moment and I really don’t know why, as I wasn’t the one conducting the negotiations. I had other people representing me back then.”
