Chelsea news: Arsenal have reached out to Charly Musonda about January transfer

ARSENAL have reportedly reached out to Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda about a move to the Emirates in January.

Charly Musonda shows off incredible skills at Chelsea training

Musonda is held in high regard at Chelsea, despite spending the majority of his time at Stamford Bridge stuck on the substitutes bench.

He refused a move away from west London during the summer, believing Antonio Conte would give him more minutes.

However, despite Chelsea being plagued by injuries in recent weeks, the 21-year-old is still being regularly overlooked by the Blues boss.

And French website Foot Mercato say that Arsenal are among the clubs keen to lure him away from Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

He has supposedly informed Chelsea that he wants to leave at the earliest opportunity.

And Arsenal have already approached him about a move to north London.

However, Foot Mercato refuse to specify what Musonda thinks about swapping Chelsea for their fierce rivals.

Meanwhile, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has no sympathy for the winger and his current predicament.

"We all know his talent, but he’s reached a period in his life where he needs to play," Martinez told French publication So Foot.

"In fact, the club wanted to loan him, but he didn’t want to go because he thought he would be playing.

"In that case, it’s quite hard to moan about your situation.

"You need to distinguish two things with young players. Their potential and their performances."
