The Blues defender had a night to forget as a number of costly mistakes allowed Roma to jump to the top of their Champions League group.

Stephan El Shaarawy netted inside 38 seconds before pouncing on a Rudiger error to double the lead in the 36th minute.

Diego Perotti killed the game with a third midway through the second half.

And the manner of the defeat has led to Rudiger writing an apology on his Instagram account.
