Tottenham news: Dele Alli may be suffering due to the change in formation, says Hoddle
That is the view of former Tottenham midfielder and manager Glenn Hoddle.
Alli has scored three times in 10 appearances in the Premier League this season.
However, Hoddle does not think he has been up to the standards that have become accustomed in a Spurs shirt.
Ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid, Hoddle questioned whether Mauricio Pochettino playing with three at the back more often this term has had a negative effect on Alli.

“I think he’s always going to score goals,” Hoddle said on BT Sport of the Tottenham man.
“He gets in the box and at the moment it’s just not quite firing 100 per cent, but he’ll put that right.
“I think he just needs to keep the ball a little bit better.
“I don’t know whether it’s slightly the different shape that they’re playing.

“Last year they didn’t play three at the back as many times as they are now.
“He’s playing almost a little bit more forward than he was and I think he’s finding that a little bit more difficult and he’s just got to readjust his game just slightly.
“He’ll always get into the box and score goals.”
Alli scored the opener for Tottenham against Real, giving his side a 1-0 lead at half time.
He made it 2-0 to Tottenham 10 minutes after half time with a deflected strike.
Pochettino's side went on to record a historic 3-1 win.
