Charlie Musonda is reportedly unhappy at Chelsea and has been linked with a move away in January due to his lack of game time.

The Belgium Under-21 international has made just five appearances for the Blues this term and has reportedly been in contact with Arsenal.

However, Belgium international boss Roberto Martinez has little sympathy for Musonda’s current predicament.

And he has claimed the 21-year-old should have taken Chelsea up on their offer to go on loan in the summer.

“We all know his talent, but he’s reached a period in his life where he needs to play,” Martinez told French publication SoFoot.

“In fact, the club wanted to loan him, but he didn’t want to go because he thought he would be playing.

“In that case, it’s quite hard to moan about your situation.

“You need to distinguish two things with young players. Their potential and their performances.”

Musonda has spent time on loan with Real Betis over the last two seasons and has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks.

Reports from France have claimed the Gunners could move for the 21-year-old in January.

The north London club are said to have already reached out to Musonda who has reportedly informed Chelsea of his desire to leave.

He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2019.
