Transfer news: Man Utd favourites to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham ahead of Real Madrid

Alli’s stock has never been higher after the England international bagged a brace in Tottenham’s 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid in midweek.

The 21-year-old has been a huge hit at Spurs since signing from MK Dons two years ago, with Mauricio Pochettino turning him into one of the best players in world football.

Talk of a move to Spain has been rife with both Real Madrid and Barcelona supposedly keen for him to make the move to La Liga.

But BetStars think Manchester United are in pole position to tie him down despite a bitter transfer history between the two clubs.

However, should United make a move, they face a huge battle to sign the Tottenham star.

Relations between the two clubs have been strained ever since the Red Devils signed Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.

The Bulgarian moved to Old Trafford after months of hankering for a move - despite Spurs agreeing a fee with Manchester City first.

Daniel Levy then consequently refused to sell Luka Modric to United five years ago.

Instead, he let the Croatia international move to Real Madrid, where he has since become a key part of their side.
