Transfer news: Man Utd favourites to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham ahead of Real Madrid

MANCHESTER UNITED are favourites to land Tottenham star Dele Alli ahead of Real Madrid, according to the bookies.

Dele Alli hilariously slams 'bitter' Arsenal fan in mean tweet video

Alli’s stock has never been higher after the England international bagged a brace in Tottenham’s 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid in midweek.

The 21-year-old has been a huge hit at Spurs since signing from MK Dons two years ago, with Mauricio Pochettino turning him into one of the best players in world football.

Talk of a move to Spain has been rife with both Real Madrid and Barcelona supposedly keen for him to make the move to La Liga.

But BetStars think Manchester United are in pole position to tie him down despite a bitter transfer history between the two clubs.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “After Spurs’ impressive victory over the reigning European champions last night, BetStars are offering odds on the clubs raring to pounce on Mauricio Pochettino’s star players, with Real Madrid ready to make a swoop.

“Dele Alli’s brace against Zinedine Zidane’s men will no doubt have sparked the interest of Europe’s elite clubs, with Manchester United currently leading the charge at 4/1 to sign the 21-year-old.

“After their demolition at the hands of Dele last night, Real Madrid are now the second favourites at 6/1 to steal the England international from their conquerors, while Barcelona and PSG are valued at 9/1 and 11/1 respectively to sign the former MK Dons player.”

However, should United make a move, they face a huge battle to sign the Tottenham star.

Transfer news: Tottenham cannot get past Man Utd's 2008 deal for Dimitar Berbatov

Relations between the two clubs have been strained ever since the Red Devils signed Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.

The Bulgarian moved to Old Trafford after months of hankering for a move - despite Spurs agreeing a fee with Manchester City first.

Daniel Levy then consequently refused to sell Luka Modric to United five years ago.

Instead, he let the Croatia international move to Real Madrid, where he has since become a key part of their side.
