Drinkwater talks Man Utd links

12:40: Danny Drinkwater says his family will be supporting Chelsea - and not former club Manchester United - this weekend.

"Yes, most of my family are Man United fans but that’s got nothing to do with the way I approach the game, every time I play against them I want to beat them,' Drinkwater told the club's official website.

"They might be United fans in my family but I’m sure, come the weekend, they’ll all be supporting Chelsea."

Fabregas contract

10:20: Cesc Fabregas says he wants a new Chelsea contract.

He told Evening Standard: “Would I like to renew? Yes, because it is a club that has always treated me well.

“I believe the fans have a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for them. I have given my all for the club for the last three-and-a-half years.

“This is a fantastic club for me and I have had a fantastic time here. Hopefully another contract will happen. Time will tell.”

Wilkins warns Chelsea over Kante

09:20: Ray Wilkins believes Chelsea should not risk N’Golo Kante against Manchester United if he is not fully fit.

“The way he plays, he’s all energy and all life, so that (another injury) can happen,” Wilkins said.

“So unless he’s 100% fit, you cannot risk this guy because if it does happen that he tears that hamstring massively that’s two or three months out.

“They’ve got to give him time. If he’s not quite there then don’t play him.”

Conte to Paris Saint-Germain

08:40: Antonio Conte reportedly regrets not leaving Chelsea in the summer.

According to Arab News, Conte is clashing with the Chelsea board and wants to leave.

The report says he’s been told he is among the candidates to replace Unai Emery at Paris Saint Germain before the start of next season.

Mourinho on Matic deal

08:00: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits he was surprised to receive a phone call informing him that Nemanja Matic was available for sale by Chelsea in the summer.

"I was surprised when [Matic's] agent called me to say 'do you want him?' " Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

"I was surprised, but he's an agent I know well.

“Normally he's very direct and objective, he doesn't waste time, he doesn't try to get people to be interested in his players to improve their situation at their club.

"Normally he's very straightforward, so when he told me 'you can have him if you want', of course I want."
