NEWCASTLE 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

FT: It's been coming.

Bournemouth defender Cook jumps highest to meet Surman’s corner for a last-gasp Bournemouth winner.

Eddie Howe and the entire visitors' bench celebrate as if they've just won the league.

That's the Cherries out of the relegation zone.

NEWCASTLE 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH - COOK

92: They’ve done it! The Cherries look to have wrapped up all three points in added time.

Steve Cook rises highest to head in a late, late Bournemouth goal from a corner.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

90: Two minutes to go at SJP and it's Bournemouth who look the more likely winners n the closing stages.

Pugh should have snatched a late winner, dancing through two challenges only for his shot to be deflected onto the post by Elliot.

Newcastle have faded badly as the game's worn on.

It's just one goal in the last three games for the Magpies.

No prizes what's on Rafa's Christmas list!

HUDDERSFIELD 1-0 WEST BROM

88: Still nothing from the Baggies as time continues to tack away. Why a result this would be for Huddersfield.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-1 BURNLEY - VOKES

81: This is not a drill! Burnley have taken the lead at St Mary’s courtesy of substitute Sam Vokes.

I told you 6/1 odds were tasty. Vokes rises highest to Johann Berg Gudmundsson cross and nods Burnley ahead.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

77: Defoe's to come on for the Cherries to be greeted with loud boos due to his Sunderland connections. What price a late winner from the veteran striker?

Don't rule out a shock away win here. The visitors have had the better of the second half chances and are growing stronger by the minute.

Newcastle have lost Lascelles, who finally gave in to the injury he picked up before the break.

He's replaced by Ciaran Clark, who's getting in valuable game-time ahead of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifiers against Denmark.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

73: King skips forward into the Newcastle half and feeds Pugh, who cuts infield before curling wide of the far post. Just signs that Bournemouth think that can snatch a win here.

HUDDERSFIELD 1-0 WEST BROM

70: So how have Huddersfield fared since going down to ten? Quite well actually. The Baggies are bossing the possession statistics, but aside from a few set-pieces - Lossl hasn’t done much.

SWANSEA 0-1 BRIGHTON

67: Swansea have improved markedly, but they still have nothing to show for it. Duffy and Dunk defending like beavers, as Kammy would say.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

65: Chance! Josh King clips a superb pass over the defence to Marc Pugh, who sees a header back across goal saved by Elliot. Penalty appeal by the Magpies as DeAndre Yedlin goes down in the box. Nothing given, righty so.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

63: The hosts are asserting dominance now as Burnley drop deeper and deeper. Nick Pope has made a few fine saves but you wonder how much longer he can keep Southampton out.

HUDDERSFIELD 1-0 WEST BROM - RED CARD

59: Christopher Schindler is shown a second yellow for a challenge on Ahmed Hegazi. That’s a real game-changer for Tony Pulis’ struggling Baggies. Triple substitution for WBA; McAuley, Krychowiak & Robson-Kanu are replaced by McClean, Rondon & Phillips.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

56: Newcastle may have carved out the better chances but Bournemouth have just had the best one of the lot.

King put Wilson through who was one on one with Elliot with no defender near him but he fluffed his big moment, firing wide of the near post.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

53: Gabbiadini's flick header bobbles harmlessly wide as the Saints settle the better of the two sides after the break.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

51: CLOSE! Joselu with a downward header at the back post but Begovic palms it over the crossbar. Newcastle started the brighter, as they did in the first half.

SWANSEA 0-1 BRIGHTON

48: The Swans had one attempt on Brighton’s goal in that opening 45 minutes. That tally doesn’t look like changing as Fernandez earns himself a booking.

BACK UNDERWAY

45: The teams are back out for the second half. I drank a bucket of coffee to help me through the next 45 minutes.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

HT: It's still Newcastle who are carving out the bulk of the chances with Cook once again getting himself in the way of a goalbound effort - this time from Atsu and Joselu firing wide from the edge of the box.

But Toon keeper Elliot has been called into action in the last ten minutes, tipping over a Wilson header and then denying King at close range.

Lascelles required lengthy treatment after an awkward fall but seems to have run off the injury.

HUDDERSFIELD 1-0 WEST BROM - VAN LA PARRA

45: It’s a wonderbang folks. After a pretty forgettable half, Van La Parra curls in a long-range stunner to give the Terriers the lead. Should Tony Pulis be worried for his job?

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

44: Charlie Daniels, who I’ve stuck in my Fantasy Football team, gets sight of goal from 25 yards but he strikes it over.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

41: What a block from James Tarkowski as Ryan Bertrand finds a yard of space on the right side of the box and goes for goal. Pope than produces a miraculous save to deny Nathan Redmond.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

38: Good save, Elliot! He scrambles back to tip Wilson's looping header over the bar after some good work from Francis. Lascelles struggling with an injury, might get subbed off early.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

36: Chance for Southampton at St Mary’s. Sofiane Boufal drives forward before unleashing a decent drive that Pope claws away.

SWANSEA 0-1 BRIGHTON

34: Save! Lewis Dunk powers his way through the Swansea penalty area and forces Fabianski into a fantastic reflex save from a bullet header.

SWANSEA 0-1 BRIGHTON - MURRAY

29: Things aren’t looking good for Paul Clement as visitors Brighton take the lead through Glenn Murray, who’s on fire recently.

The veteran forward gets on the end of an Anthony Knockaert cross and knees it home. They all count!

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

32: Newcastle steal the ball after some good pressing in midfield, but Joselu can only scuff his effort wide. The Cherries respond with a corner but it’s easy dealt with.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

29: Nathan Redmond heads tamely over as Southampton probe from right to left without looking overly threatening.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

26: Quite easy to see why the Cherries have been struggling this season. Eddie Howe’s side look low on confidence are allowing Newcastle to dictate things. I’m sure they’re bored of this criticism, but they’re too nice!

HUDDERSFIELD 0-0 WEST BROM

23: Superb block from Christopher Schindler to deny Jay Rodriguez's effort after he ghosted through on goal.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

20: Just 20 minutes gone at St James' Park and already the Bournemouth goal is beginning to lead a charmed life.

Begovic has already pulled off two wonderful saves to keep out thunderous efforts from Ritchie and Atsu.

The Cherries keeper wasn't the only one performing defensive heroics. Gayle’s far post header from Ritchie's cross was heading for the net until Cook saved with his best.

Then Lady luck came to the visitors' rescue with Ritchie's curler hitting the woodwork. The rebound  came out to Gayle, who rolled the ball into an empty net only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

Replays suggest it was a harsh decision.

18: I think I might have over-sold these games in the build-up. I was praying for a couple of four-goal thrillers, but I’ll be happy with one goal before the half-time whistle.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

15: Florian Lejeune with two classy contributions so far. This time he flicks the ball over Wilson's head and clears well.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 BURNLEY

13: I saw that Burnley were 6/1 to beat Southampton this afternoon. Not sure the bookies have priced that correctly because the Clarets are a real force away from home. Quiet start on the South Coast.

SWANSEA 0-0 BRIGHTON

10: Shane Duffy to the rescue to prevent Tammy Abraham from tapping home from six-yards out. The Swans are bossing the possession stats down at the Liberty, Chris Hughton won’t mind that too much.

HUDDERSFIELD 0-0 WEST BROM

8: Bright start from the Baggies. You always sense Tony Pulis will pull something out the bag when he’s under pressure. He’s crafty like that.

NEWCASTLE 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

6: Newcastle aren’t wasting any time in getting stuck in. Shelvey sprays it wide for Atsu, but the cross leaves much to be desired.

3: Slightly delayed start to proceedings following Remembrance tributes around the grounds.

AND WE’RE OFF!

1: I wouldn’t even bother trying to do an accumulator today folks. I haven’t clue which way any of these are going. Save the pennies for some Sparklers tonight.

SWANSEA vs BRIGHTON

14:50: Paul Clement, whose just arrived from moonlighting as an undertaker, knows Swansea need points today.

Clement's side sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference ahead of today’s home game with Brighton.

And he knows he’s coming under increasing scrutiny from supporters to oversee an upturn in performances and results.

NEWCASTLE vs BOURNEMOUTH

Analysis from our reporter Ian Murtagh, at St James’ Park.

14:45: Newcastle fans will be happy when they hear the make-up of the two teams - but it's the Cherries side which will have them smiling.

Because there's no Jermain Defoe in the starting line-up - and he's a striker who always does well at St James' Park.

He scored on his last appearance on Tyneside for bitter rivals Sunderland in a 1-1 draw.

Bournemouth's last visit to these parts spelt the end of Steve McClaren's disastrous spell in charge of the Magpies. He was sacked five days after a 3-1 defeat.

Rafa Benitez had left out Ayoze Perez, recalling Dwight Gayle for his first start since Newcastle lost 1-0 at Huddersfield in August.

AFTERNOON

14:40: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League.

Just the four fixtures to look forward too this afternoon, but it’s all about quality over quantity, right?

That’s certainly what’s just happened at the Bet365 Stadium, where Stoke and Leicester played out an exciting 2-2 draw.

I’d be very happy indeed if we could average four goals in the rest of today’s matches.

No pressure, lads!
