The Manchester City manager says setting records does not interest him as much as winning the Premier League title.

Arsenal are the only team in the modern era to go through a League season unbeaten – winning 26 and drawing 12 of their 38 games on the way to winning the title in the 2003-04 campaign.

City have won nine and drawn one of their first 10 Premier League games – and are unbeaten in 23 games in all competitions stretching back to their FA cup semi-final defeat to the Gunners in April.

Their remarkable unbeaten run in all competitions this season - 15 wins in 16 games - has prompted suggestions they could match the Gunners team of 2004.

Arsene's record belongs to him, we are not going to break it

But ahead of Wenger's visit to the Etihad on Sunday Guardiola insisted it will not happen.

“Arsene's record belongs to him, we are not going to break it," he said.

“He has to be calm. It was an exceptional team in 2004, something fantastic. We don't want to break this record but we want to play good and beat them on Sunday."
