Slaven Bilic admits he is under pressure at West Ham

West Ham have lost six of their 11 Premier League games and sit a point above the relegation zone.

They were thrashed 4-1 at the London Stadium today as Liverpool continued their recent resurgence.

Bilic has been under pressure at West Ham for some time and the boss concedes talks with the chairman have been scheduled.

"I have to talk to the chairman, we are going to discuss this defeat,” he said.

“It's not the first one, it's the second in a row in home. It is a very difficult situation for me.

"I always believe in myself, I wouldn't be here otherwise.”

Asked if he still has the club’s backing, Bilic said: “It's hard for me to talk about that now."

West Ham player Aaron Cresswell was also asked about Bilic’s position.

He said: "They are not our decisions. As players we can be professional and do our best.”

But the defender admitted the players are letting the boss down.

“Definitely, every player included,” he said.

“It is not good enough as a team collectively. We need to ease the pressure off the gaffer and ourselves."

West Ham limped to a 4-1 loss against Liverpool

West Ham fell 2-0 down at half time thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip.

Manuel Lanzini hit back early in the second half but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and another Salah goal ensured the win for the Reds.

"We started well for the first 20 minutes, exactly what we wanted but then we conceded two goals, very cheap,” Bilic said.

"We tried to change the shape and be more open in the second half, we scored but they are so good on the counter attack. It is a big defeat for us.

"It's not a lack of effort. We should have defended better, it's no excuse to concede from your own corner kick.

“At this level if you are 2-0 down so early it's not game over but it's very difficult to come back.”
