The Italian got one over his United rival today as his side won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to an Alvaro Morata second-half strike.

However, it was an incident after the full-time whistle that caused controversy.

Conte and Mourinho snubbed each other and failed to shake hands.

And when asked about the incident, the Chelsea boss said: “It’s not important.

“It’s important to win the game.

“You have to have the respect on the pitch not outside the pitch.

"At the end of the match I went to shake the hands of the officials and then my players. If I shake someone's hand twice I think it's enough."

The win ensured Chelsea remain in fourth place in the Premier League table.

And Morata’s eighth goal of the season pleased his boss - but Conte was frustrated that he did not score more.

Morata headed home the only goal of the game.

“Alvaro Morata showed great personality to be very strong to play in this league,” Conte added.

“There is disappointment because he could score more but today he was very good.

“He’s a young player but it’s great for his confidence and the confidence of Chelsea.”
