Alexandre Lacazette has failed to play a full 90 minutes for Arsenal this term

Those are the thoughts of BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer.

Lacazette started on the bench, but he made an almost immediate impact as he scored 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute to reduce the Gunners’ arrears at the Etihad.

However, Gabriel Jesus scored in the 74th minute to which represent an excellent day at the office for Pep Guardiola’s men, who remain unbeaten in the Premier League this term and are eight points clear at the top of the table.

Lacazette, who joined the north London outfit for a club-record fee of £52.7million over the summer, has failed to play a full 90 minutes this term.

Shearer finds the situation baffling and thinks Lacazette needs to get answers from Wenger.

“He left him out at Anfield and again today, against your rivals,” Shearer told Match of the Day 2.

“You spend £50m on a striker and think he will make the difference in the big games.
