Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho starting to consider letting David De Gea join Real Madrid

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly beginning to consider allowing David De Gea to join Real Madrid.

David De Gea: It's a dream to play for Manchester United

De Gea could not stop Manchester United from slipping to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

But, with eight clean sheets to his name, the Spain international remains the best in his position in the Premier League.

Real Madrid did their utmost to lure him to the Bernabeu two years ago, only for paperwork problems to scupper the deal.

However, Spanish website Don Balon claims that Manchester United are now edging towards a state of mind where they will be happy to let him go.

De Gea signed a new contract shortly after his failed move in 2015.

Yet at the end of the season it will have just one year left to run - which means a decision on a renewal or sale will have to be made by then.

De Gea’s stock continues to rise with his stunning performances helping the Red Devils to second in the Premier League table.

But, with Real Madrid circling, a parting of the ways could be in the offing.

However, Don Balon say Mourinho will cash in - but only on one condition.

The 54-year-old supposedly wants Madrid to cough up a huge amount of money and include Raphael Varane in any potential deal.

Varane was signed by Mourinho during the Portuguese’s time in Spain.

However, he has struggled this season with Madrid currently eight points behind Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table.

Should Real bow to his demands, the France international could make the move to Old Trafford.

But supporters would no doubt be furious at his arrival if it meant De Gea moving in the opposite direction.
