Man City could be better than Arsenal's Invincibles and any Sir Alex Ferguson Man Utd team- Cottee

Manchester City are currently eight points clear at the top of the table, a Premier League record after 11 games of a season.

Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to be beaten, leading to comparisons to Arsenal’s Invincibles of 2004.

Cottee believes they can go on to be better than that Arsenal team and any of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United sides.

“I watched the game against Arsenal and what I loved about it was the confidence, the arrogance that comes with being a top team of being able to play out of any situation,” formwe West Ham striker Cottee said on Sky Sports.

You’ve got the Invincibles, and many Manchester United teams. Potentially, this could be the best

Tony Cottee on Manchester City

“You’ve got a goalkeeper passing it six yards, making an angle to be able to get the ball back from a defender and they play out from all angles.

“You can argue Arsenal didn’t always press as a team, they pressed as individuals but they just played around them.

“Arsenal are a decent team, they’re not a fantastic team, they’re a decent team. They made them look very, very average.

“I think they’ve shut up shop defensively and we know what they’ve got going forward.
