Man Utd news: PSG eye Jose Mourinho in a bid to stop Neymar from joining Real Madrid

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN believe bringing in Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho would boost their chances of keeping Neymar amid interest from Real Madrid.

Manchester United have enjoyed a solid season so far but Mourinho's future has been plunged into uncertainty in recent weeks.

Last month, the 54-year-old flirted with the idea of managing PSG and insisted talks over an Old Trafford contract extension had yet to take place.

That has led to talk he could be set to leave his post, with PSG determined to make him their next manager.

And Spanish website Don Balon say Mourinho could leave Manchester United, with Real Madrid's interest in Neymar key to any potential move.

It is said Real have a strong interest in Neymar, despite the Brazilian only joining PSG from Barcelona back in August.

The 25-year-old supposedly is unhappy with life at the Parc des Princes under current manager Unai Emery.

Emery has got PSG back on track after a difficult first season but Neymar is yet to be convinced.

There is said to be genuine fear over in Paris that Neymar could join Real Madrid - potentially as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at some point down the line.

And Don Balon say that, in order to stop their star asset leaving, PSG are lining up Mourinho.

They have reportedly met with the 54-year-old's agent, Jorge Mendes, in the hope of luring him away from Old Trafford.

Whether or not he deserts his post, however, remains to be seen.

United remain on track for a good season and Mourinho may be more inclined to see out his contract before embarking on another adventure.
