Chelsea news: AC Milan made contact with Antonio Conte about taking job after Man Utd game

AC MILAN reportedly made contact with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after the Blues' 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Conte's future remains uncertain at Chelsea despite outsmarting Jose Mourinho for the third time in four meetings.

The Blues face a huge fight to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title and, should they fail to scoop the prize, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may wield the axe again.

And Transfer Market Web say Milan are eying Chelsea boss Conte with current boss Vincenzo Montella likely to be replaced at the end of the summer.

After embarking on a huge summer spending spree, Milan were expected to take Serie A by storm and rival the likes of Juventus and Inter for the Scudetto.

But the Rossoneri currently sit seventh in the table, having won six of their 12 games so far.

As a result, club chiefs are expected to replace Montella at the end of the season - if not sooner.

And TMW say Milan are working on a deal that would see Conte take the reins at the San Siro.

Management team David Han Li and Lorenzo Giorgietti were supposedly present at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea put United to the sword.

And first contacts were supposedly made at the final whistle.

However, Chelsea fans need not panic yet.

Conte supposedly would want to shape Milan to his design - and not that of the club's hierarchy.

He famously clashed with Chelsea chiefs in the summer over their transfer business, and was furious at missing out on Romelu Lukaku.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville thinks Conte could still be sacked by Chelsea - particularly after humiliating David Luiz in training.

"Every manager who has taken on the players here has gone pretty quickly," he said.

"It is a big call because if you take on these players in that dressing room, where David Luiz is a big influence, a big character, you can lose at this club.

"This is not the end of this — this is the start.

"Conte has won today, but in two or three weeks’ time if David Luiz is still sat on that bench, every time they concede a goal, the cameras will flip to David Luiz.

"It was the same with John Terry."
