Klopp sack claim

21:26: Liverpool will SACK Jurgen Klopp in the summer if they don’t win a trophy or finish in the Champions League qualification spots this season, says journalist Duncan Castles.

When asked if Liverpool would stick or twist with their manager at the end of the season, Castles said: “Liverpool will twist if Klopp fails to get Champions League football or win a trophy this season - which is looking a distinct possibility.

“If I was Liverpool, I would try to hire (Watford manager) Marco Silva as his replacement.”

Goretzka keen on Premier League

19:22: Leon Goretzka is set to snub interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich to move to the Premier League next summer, claim Spanish publication Sport.

The Germany international is out of contract at Schalke at the end of the season and has no plans to extend his stay.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all reportedly keen on him, however, according to Sport, he is set to reject approached from those clubs to move to England.

The report goes on to add that Chelsea and Liverpool are best-placed to sign the playmaker.

Bookies odds

18:30: After failing to sign Virgil van Dijk during the summer, Liverpool are in desperate need of some defensive reinforcements during the next transfer window.

Solanke surprise

16:14: Dominic Solanke admits he was surprised to be called up to England’s senior squad for their friendly with Brazil tomorrow night.

“It came as a surprise really but I’d like to think that being a footballer anything can happen,” he replied when asked to evaluate his chances of making the World Cup squad.

“Things change quickly in football and when you get your chance you have to take it. It’s all about confidence and believe and if you get the opportunity you have to take it.

“Obviously the World Cup is the target for every England player. There’s still a long season ahead and everybody has to do everything they can at their clubs. And then we will see what it’s like at the end of the season.”

Klopp on Mane injury

14:15: Jurgen Klopp admits he’s concerned by Sadio Mane’s latest injury problem.

The winger returned to Melwood earlier than scheduled after tweaking his hamstring on international duty.

Mane missed five games for Liverpool after sustaining the hamstring injury on Senegal duty in September, and manager Klopp is concerned.

He said: “Obviously it is a concern that the hamstring injury is again on the agenda and it will be critical for us to monitor and manage that in the coming days. At this stage we haven’t seen Sadio yet to properly assess the extent."

Philippe Coutinho insists he is happy at Anfield.

Liverpool are just like Brazil!

13:30: Roberto Firmino thinks Liverpool share many similarities with Brazil!

The Anfield favourite is likely to start against England at Wembley tomorrow night, and revealed Brazil’s style is very similar to Liverpool’s.

“I think the Brazil system is similar to the one we use at Liverpool, with lots of movement, players open out wide and quality midfielders who join the attack and score goals," Firmino told The Independent.

Reds to snap-up young talent

12:30: Liverpool are ready to fork out £5million for 17-year-old Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to the Sun.

The teenager, who was part of the England Under-17s team to be crowned world champions last month, has sparked interest from Tottenham and Arsenal too, the paper says.

Coutinho backed to make transfer u-turn

11:45: Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho could change his mind “tomorrow” and decide he wants to go to Barcelona, according to former Premier League defender Sebastian Bassong.

Coutinho has once again been linked with a move to Barcelona in January after a deal failed to materialise last summer.

However, while on international duty with Brazil, Coutinho admitted he is happy at Liverpool.

"I'm always happy. But now it's important to concentrate on the national team. At the moment I am very happy with my life."

But Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle defender Bassong believes Philippe Coutinho’s words should be taken with a pinch of salt, because he could change his mind by tomorrow.

“Of course (there’s a future at Liverpool for Coutinho), he said he’s happy. You’ve got to believe his words, trust his words,” Bassong said.

“We all know in football that the word of today might not be the word of tomorrow, the decision of tomorrow. I think as a Brazilian player, a player who wants to improve his game, he might think again of going off to Barcelona. But that’s only my opinion, yeah.”

Robertson: I’m still in Klopp’s plans

11:00: Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson believes he’s firmly in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the future.

The defender arrived at Anfield from relegated Hull for £8million, but has made just three appearances.

"Of course it's difficult. I don't make any secret of it, I hate not playing. It's been a very frustrating three months for me, but I spoke to the manager as I felt as if the settling-in period was over and thought I was ready to play," Robertson said.

"I felt I did myself justice in the games I did play, so I had a good chat with him. He gave me a few points to work on, so that's kept me going. I know I'm still in his plans and, if I work on the things he's asked me to, hopefully I'll be in the first team or closer to it."

Dortmund want Can

10:00: Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The Mirror reports that Germany star Can, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has already caught the eye of Italian giants Juventus, but the Serie A outfit could now face serious competition from Dortmund who are keen to get him on a free transfer next summer.

Solanke tribunal case

09:00: Chelsea will use Dominic Solanke's call-up to the England senior squad in their tribunal case over his move to Liverpool.

Gareth Southgate added Solanke, 20, to his squad for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil after a spate of injuries.

And that could help Chelsea maximise their compensation fee, according to The Evening Standard.

Chelsea are entitled to compensation, even though his contract expired, because he’s under 24.

It’s claimed Chelsea rejected Liverpool’s initial £3million offer, and are holding out for a fee in excess of £10m.

Mane injury worry

08:00 Sadio Mane has returned to Liverpool after aggravating a hamstring injury while on international duty.

The winger starred for Senegal as they booked their place at the World Cup by beating South Africa 2-0 on Friday.

However, Mane was meant to remain with his national side for another upcoming dead-rubber game against the 2010 World Cup hosts on Tuesday.

But the Senegalese FA have confirmed the 25-year-old has returned to Merseyside.

A statement read: “Following the match South Africa against Senegal Friday, November 10, 2017 in Polokwane, the player Sadio Mane was slightly felt from his old injury.

“After consultations between the medical staff of the national team of Senegal and Liverpool, it was decided by mutual agreement to make it available to his club to continue treatment until full recovery.”

Coutinho happy at Anfield

06.30: Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he is happy with life at Liverpool.

There had been reports that the Brazilian midfielder was furious with Reds officials because his proposed move to Barcelona in the summer fell through.

However, the Catalan club are sure to rekindle their interest when the transfer market reopens in January.

But in the meantime he claims he is solely focussed on performing for Jurgen Klopp’s side - and he could not be any happier.

"I'm playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world," said Coutinho.

"I'm always happy.

“But now it's important to concentrate on the national team. At the moment I am very happy with my life."

Torres wants England return

06.00: Ex-Liverpool striker Fernando Torres wants a return to the Premier League, according to reports.

It is suggested that Newcastle United and Southampton are keen on bringing the Spanish forward back to England.

Torres has found himself behind Antoine Greizmann and Angel Correa in the Atletico pecking order.

And with former Chelsea striker Diego Costa eligible to play in the new year, Torres’ time in the Spanish capital could be coming to an end.

The Mirror are reporting that Torres’ representatives have let the Atletico hierarchy know of his desire to leave, potentially on loan, in the January window.

And his camp have also touched base with ex-boss Benitez and Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
