Betting: David Moyes backed in as heavy favourite for West Ham United job after sacking of Slaven Bilic

David Moyes looks set to take over at West Ham United following the departure of Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers lost 4-1 at home to Liverpool on the weekend to drop into the relegation zone, which proved to be the final straw for the East London outfit’s board.

Although the international break means that there is no Premier League action for almost two weeks, reports around the country suggest that West Ham will act fast and hire Moyes imminently, with Paddy Power pricing the former Everton manager at 1/25 (1.04) to be the new man in charge.

The 54-year-old has been out of a job for nearly six months after he resigned from Sunderland following their relegation to the Championship in May, but looks set for a return to management.

Former Hammers boss Alan Pardew, who guided the side to the FA Cup Final in 2006 before succumbing to Liverpool on penalties at the Millennium Stadium, is 9/1 (10.0) for a second stint at the club.

Current Zenit Saint Petersburg boss Roberto Mancini can be backed at 14/1 (15.0) to make a return to the Premier League following his four-year spell at Manchester City, although the Russian side are second in their domestic league.

Another former Citizens’ boss in Manuel Pellegrini is priced at 16/1 (17.0), although the Chilean may take some prying away from the Chinese Super League.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche – who has been heavily linked with the Everton job - is also available at 16/1 (17.0), with Ronald Koeman priced the same following his departure from the Toffees.
