Fantasy Football: Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan make our Team of the Week in first starts

All eyes were on Arsenal this week when new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were given first starts for their new club. Whilst they both put in fantastic performances on their debut, the thunder was thoroughly stolen by Aaron Ramsey who collected the match ball for his hat trick against Everton.

Time will tell if this is was more of a blip, or the start of a new deadly attack for the North London. As we wait to find out which is closer to the truth, take a look at the 11 best performers from the most recent round of Premier League fixtures.

GK: David De Gea - Manchester United - 1 Game, 1 Clean Sheet = 7 Points

Goalkeepers do not usually get much attention in the Fantasy sphere, but there is nothing usual about David de Gea. He currently leads the position in the Goal game by a whopping 31 points, and the gap between he and second place is more than second place to tenth (29 points). As for this week, the Spaniard was the only ‘keeper to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League and is very much worth owning despite his astronomical price.

DF: Danilo - Manchester City - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Goal Conceded = 8 Points

DF: Laurent Koscielny - Arsenal - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Goal Conceded = 8 Points

DF: Federico Fernandez - Swansea - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Goal Conceded = 8 Points

This is Fernandez’s second stint in our Team of the Week in his last three matches. The arrival of manager Carlos Carvalhal has had very a very evident impact on Swansea as a whole and the defence in particular. They have conceded more than one goal just once under the Portuguese manager and could start to keep clean sheets sooner rather than later as they face four bottom 10 attacks in the next five matches.

DF: Daryl Janmaat - Watford - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Goal Conceded = 8 Points

MF: Aaron Ramsey - Arsenal - 1 Game, 3 Goals = 20 Points

Ramsey shone on a day which was meant to be all about Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang. The Welshman’s hat trick was incredible though, for Fantasy purposes, but it is not something that can be expected going forward. In fact, his performance on Saturday doubled his goal tally this season. He could well prove a solid own if he can hold onto his spot in this Arsenal team, but facing Tottenham’s stern defence may not be the best time to pounce on Ramsey.

MF: Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Arsenal - 1 Game, 3 Assists = 11 Points

MF: Gerard Deulofeu - Watford - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

What a home debut that was. After spending the first half of the season back at Barcelona, Deulofeu brought his talents to Watford and reminded us of just how good he can be. The assist was admittedly earned via penalty but the young Spaniard is definitely a threat creatively and, if he can find the net somewhat consistently, could become an outrageous value at just £5.5m
