Akanji to snub Liverpool for Dortmund


Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji is set to move to Borussia Dortmund despite interest from Liverpool, according to Blick .

The centre-back missed training with Basel in order to travel to Dortmund where he will agree terms and complete a medical ahead of a €21.5 million transfer.

Spurs and Liverpool had both been linked with the 22-year-old, but he preferred a move to Dortmund as he felt he could more easily break into their first team.


Liverpool to sign Keita on Sunday

Liverpool have succeeded in their bid to push forward the signing of Naby Keita, according to the Express .

The Reds agreed terms with RB Leipzig over the midfielder in the summer, but the sale of Philippe Coutinho has left the club short of cover in the middle. 

Their efforts to move up the transfer date have apparently been successful, and Keita could sign as early as Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp has rejected suggestions that Naby Keita's transfer from RB Leipzig to Liverpool could be moved to January.

The midfielder will arrive in the summer but Philippe Coutinho's departure to Barcelona has led to speculation that Liverpool could use some funds from that deal to push Keita's arrival forward. 

"I will not start [speculating] now. He is a player of Leipzig and will be in the summer here. That's all I know," Klopp said.
