Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur Betting: Jose's defensive tactics to keep the score down at Old Trafford

With only goal difference separating them in the Premier League, Manchester United’s match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday promises to be a keenly fought affair.

Having won six out of six at Old Trafford in all competitions this season, Jose Mourinho’s men are 13/10 (2.30) favourites with dabblebet to put some breathing space between them and their guests by coming out on top.

However, Spurs have won all four of their away matches in the league so far, and are on offer at 23/10 (3.30) to extend that run with an impressive victory here.

Just one of the last seven encounters between the teams has resulted in a draw, but there are odds of 23/10 (3.30) available on them cancelling each other out in this one.

Although neck and neck in the table, the atmosphere surrounding these two teams is very different going into this clash.

Despite their EFL Cup victory over Swansea in midweek, the Red Devils are still reeling from a shock 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield last time out, which followed on from an unambitious performance in a drab 0-0 draw at Anfield.

In contrast, even surrendering a 2-0 lead in the Carabao Cup to West Ham United could not dampen the mood for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who themselves thrashed Liverpool 4-1 last weekend.

That impressive four-goal display against the Reds will probably only have reaffirmed Mourinho’s commitment to keeping things tight in big games, in an effort to avoid any chance of being on the wrong side of such an open encounter.

Having conceded just a single goal in six home games this campaign, the hosts will certainly back themselves to keep Harry Kane and Co. at bay in the same way they did Jurgen Klopp’s team.

With Tottenham also more than capable of shutting out United after keeping three clean sheets in four away league games, odds of 10/11 (1.91) seem generous on no more than one getting on the scoresheet for the sixth encounter in seven between these sides.
