Mbappe better than Cristiano Ronaldo at 18, says ex-Man Utd star Djemba-Djemba

Former Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba has compared Kylian Mbappe favourably to Cristiano Ronaldo at his current stage of development.

Mbappe doesn't turn 19 until December 20, but has already established himself as one of world football's leading talents.

After making a huge impact with Monaco last term, Paris Saint-Germain paid £81 million to secure the striker's services this season.

Djemba-Djemba, who played for the Red Devils in 2003 when Ronaldo arrived as a teenager, says he believes Mbappe is ahead of even the Portugal great at this stage.

"I find Mbappe a notch above Cristiano Ronaldo at this age. I find Mbappe a bit above," Djemba-Djemba told SFR Sport.

"At the same age, Mbappe has a little more experience. But for me, it's the same class."

After starring for United, Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid and has established himself as one of football's all-time greats, winning four Ballons d'Or with a fifth likely on the way.

Mbappe has eight goals in all competitions for PSG so far in 2017-18, including Saturday's instinctive equaliser against Strasbourg.
