Mendy queries FIFA rating again as Man City hit Watford for six

Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy has continued his trolling of EA Sports for handing him a rating of 78 in their upcoming FIFA 18 release.

The France international starred for Monaco in 2016-17 as they swept to the Ligue 1 title and the semi-finals of the Champions League.

His performances convinced City that he was worth £52 million of their money, but not everybody was taken with the 23-year-old.

Mendy questioned his score on FIFA after learning of his mark, suggesting that the game makers had never seen him in action.

After helping City to a 6-0 mauling of Watford on Saturday, Mendy could not resist another sly dig.

While Mendy is enjoying a bit of light-hearted fun, and has been an enjoyable presence on social media ever since his move to City was confirmed, his antics may not impress his manager.

Pep Guardiola told reporters ahead of the meeting with Watford that he will be carefully monitoring the posts of his players to ensure that they do not cross the line.

He said: “Today is a different world than what I lived in. Maybe in my period if we had Twitter I’d use Twitter. I just want respect for the other ones. I don’t want to see disrespect for team-mates, the opposition, the club, for the fans, for the issues happening in the world. That I don’t want to see from my players, and we spoke about that.”

For now, Mendy is very much on the right side of the entertainment line and should avoid any uncomfortable questions from his coach.
