West Bromwich Albion’s Ahmed Hegazi in fitness race ahead of Everton clash

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew disclosed that Ahmed Hegazi remains a doubt for their Premier League fixture against Everton.

The Egypt international who has played in every of the Baggies’ league games so far this campaign suffered a head injury in their 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday.

Hegazi collided with teammate Craig Dawson in the final 15 minutes of the encounter.

And his manager is hopeful that the 26-year-old who signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Hawthorns outfit from Al Ahly in December will be fit for the encounter at Merseyside.

"We've had to monitor Ahmed Hegazi and Craig Dawson after their clash last weekend against Brighton," Pardew told the club website.

"We have had to go through all the procedures that have to happen with a head injury.

"We are pretty confident that they will be ok. We will find out on Friday.”

After ending a 20-game winless run in the league against Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday, West Bromwich Albion will be aiming to build on the winning momentum at the Goodison Park on Saturday.

They are placed 19th in the league table with 19 points from 23 games – two points adrift relegation safety.
