Alexandre Lacazette enhances Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez's game, says Ian Wright

Ian Wright has praised Alexandre Lacazette as a “fantastic signing” and believes the forward enhances Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil’s game.

The Frenchman was on the mark in Arsenal’s five-goal thrashing of Everton on Sunday afternoon, adding his side’s third goal at Goodison Park.

Lacazette has now scored five goals for the north Londoners since moving to the Emirates in the summer.

Speaking of the forward on Match of the Day 2, Wright said: "I love Lacazette. He's a fantastic signing. When he stretches teams, look at Ozil and Sanchez, they've got the space to run into.”

Wright also encouraged Lacazette to stay higher up the pitch and avoid getting involved in Arsenal’s link-up play on the edge of opponents’ final thirds.

"When he gets into this situation [in the penalty area], he finishes so so well," explained Wright.

"I don't want to see him come and getting involved in the link up play because we have enough players that can do that.

"I would love to see him on the edge of defenders, and running into those little slots, stretching teams."

Despite Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over struggling Everton, manager Arsene Wenger said after the game that he believes there’s still room for improvement in his side’s attack.

"There are still things to improve, but we created a lot of chances through our team movement, and if you add [Aaron] Ramsey with his penetrating runs, we caused Everton a lot of problems," he said.

"After that, it's easier for everyone to express themselves. I'm satisfied with the way we played. Our movement was good, and the quality of our passing was good.

"We were tested mentally because we were losing 1-0. We got back into the game, and we finished the match in a very convincing way."
