Jurgen Klopp is prepared to put Philippe Coutinho straight back into his starting line-up for Liverpool’s Premier League meeting with Burnley on Saturday.

Coutinho, who handed in a transfer request last month in an attempt to force through a move to Barcelona, made his first Liverpool appearance of the season against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian played 14 minutes of the 2-2 draw as a second-half substitute and was warmly received by the Anfield crowd, despite his attempts to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

“It’s not the moment that I talk about the line-up but he should be ready,” Klopp said.

“I was really happy with how the crowd welcomed him. For him it was good. He has trained outstanding since he’s back.

“The game was not perfect of course, but that’s how it is after a long break. It helped him and helped us. For sure, we’re ready to think about [selecting him].”

Coutinho is likely to replace Sadio Mané in Klopp’s side as the Senegalese forward begins his three-match suspension following last weekend’s sending-off against Manchester City.

“It is always difficult to replace top-class players [like Mané] in a really good shape but we did it at the end of last season when we had to play without him.
