Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident his side can play without Sadio Mane following news the Senegalese forward is out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

Mane has been in excellent form for the Reds this season but they will have to do without him when they face Manchester United at Anfield on Saturday.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of the game, Klopp admitted it was frustrating one of his players got injured on international duty but that it is a situation they have had to deal with plenty of times before.

“Thank god that we can play football without Sadio because already we had to do this a lot of times, much more often than we wanted,” Klopp said.

“He's a high quality player, we all know this. He was unlucky with the injury but it is like it is.

“A lot of players in this international break have injuries - it's a big problem, change of rhythm, change of training, stuff like this. It's not only Sadio it's [Marouane] Fellaini, it's a lot of other players.

“We can play without him even if we would love to have him in the line-up. That's how it is.”
