Manchester City trio are the hottest Fantasy League prospects

Out of nowhere, Oumar Niasse is in demand in Fantasy Premier League

Half a dozen games in, a clear picture is beginning to emerge in Premier League fantasy football - but what does it mean for your transfers?

Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at the good, the bad and the... new?

CITY HEATING UP

Sergio Aguero's five goals in three games make him the leader in Press Association Sport's "heat score" - calculated using overall selection percentage combined with how players' popularity is changing over time.

Scores range from 100 to -100 and Aguero, now in more than a quarter of teams, is way out in front on 81.4. Club-mate David Silva is second on 48.7 while Nicolas Otamendi is sixth after three straight clean sheets plus a goal against Watford - six per cent of managers have brought him in in the last fortnight.

The promoted teams are well represented, with Brighton's Pascal Gross third on 45.3 and Newcastle centre-backs Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba in the top 10. Lascelles has two goals to his name but Mbemba is £600,000 cheaper at £4million.

POGBA OUT IN THE COLD

Manchester United's injured midfielder Paul Pogba has a heat score of -86.3 as, w ith no return date yet known, more than a quarter of the game's players have opted to reassign their £8.1m - many have put it towards Silva (£8.4m) or the £8.5m Henrikh Mkhitaryan, fourth in the hot list.

Suspensions have plunged David Luiz and Sadio Mane into the deep freeze, though the latter could see his numbers pick up as he returns this week. Everton's tough start sees Wayne Rooney and Michael Keane among the 10 coldest players.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF OUMAR NIASSE

Until this week, Fantasy Premier League was no place for the striker whom Ronald Koeman had deemed surplus to requirements.

Niasse was added at £5m for gameweek seven and credited with the 11 points he would have earned for his two goals against Bournemouth - including the three bonus points as the best player on show, which were therefore unavailable to any FPL manager.

Within 24 hours, more than 45,000 managers took the plunge - can he keep up his form and reward their faith? Niasse - who will not register a heat score until next week - scored 44 points in half of last season on loan at Hull.

BARGAIN-WATCH

The top-scoring player in each position now comes from the top bracket in Press Association Sport's grouping, following David de Gea's fifth clean sheet in six Manchester United games.

Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and defender Chris Lowe represent value for money so far in the second-cheapest bracket, though the Terriers face Tottenham and United in their next three games and could be due a downturn - simulations based on bookmakers' odds average out to just 2.12 points across the three games, ahead of only Crystal Palace.

Spurs, Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal are the top five, with projections of six points or more, so for bargain options you may need to look to Southampton (5.24) or West Ham (4.94). Fraser Forster (£5m, 31 points), Steven Davis (£5.1m, 26) and Javier Hernandez (£7m, 25) are leading candidates, though the latter's -28.7 heat score is fourth-coldest.
