Eamon Dunphy is not a fan of Chelsea's £40m summer signing from Monaco Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea enjoyed a very impressive victory over Atletico Madrid last week but were completely dominated in midfield against a rampant Manchester City side on Saturday.

Dunphy, who doesn't think Antonio Conte will stay at Stamford Bridge for much longer, believes one of Chelsea's big problems at the weekend was Bakayoko.

"The big fella Bakayoko, they sold Matic for £40 million because he is 29, they bought Bakayoko because he is 22-23. He is useless. So you had Fabregas in midfield, no legs. Bakayoko, no good," Dunphy told Game On on 2FM.

He also took aim at Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool central defensive partnership of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren after they were took apart all too easily for Newcastle's goal yesterday.

"They are statues. That is a bad pairing and Moreno is playing left back, which is mad. They've got wonderful players up front, they were far better than Newcastle but they just leak goals," he added.

"It's a horror show, and that was a carbon copy of the goal Aguero scored for Man City when De Bruyne played the ball right through the same space. I'd say Sunday League level, two-centre halves, they'd be talking to each other and one would drop off into the space where the runner could go. It's basic stuff.

"You'd have to be highly critical of the two players, they are very experienced and very, very critical of the coach."
