Swansea v Watford - Story of the match

Watford's Richarlison celebrates his side's winner in their 2-1 Premier League victory at Swansea.

Richarlison struck a late winner as Watford's 2-1 victory gave them a first league success at Swansea since 1983.

Luther Blissett and John Barnes were the scorers when Watford last won on Swansea soil.

But Andre Gray and the Brazilian Richarlison were the Hornets' heroes this time after substitute Tammy Abraham appeared to have given Swansea a share of the spoils.

TWEET OF THE MATCH

"GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RICHARLISON!!!!!!!!!!! #watfordfc" - Watford's official Twitter account enjoys the finale.

STAR MAN

Kiko Femenia. There were many outstanding performances in the red of Watford, from Abdoulaye Doucoure's athleticism in midfield to the strong defending of Adrian Mariappa and Christian Kabasele. Andre Carrillo's right-flanks forays also presented danger in the first half, but the overall display of Spanish right-back Kiko Femenia was top class. Shut out Swansea's attacking movements down his flanks, the Spanish defender was always willing to link up in attack.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Richarlison showed incredible composure for such a young man to win the game for Watford in the 90th-minute. The 20-year-old had to rely on a weak challenge from Alfie Mawson to race through on goal. But when he got there the Brazilian was not flustered and he finished in style with his shot crossing the line off the underside of the crossbar.

IN WITH THE CROWD

The cries of 'Leon, Leon' are always a sure-fire sign that things are not going well at Swansea. Leon Britton might have turned 35 last week, but the Swansea club captain is still an indispensable figure in the eyes of most supporters. Britton was brought back in the final weeks of last season and played a critical role as Paul Clement's Swansea avoided the drop. Not even on the bench against Watford, it might not be too long before the influence of the diminutive midfielder is felt again.
