The opposition view: Cheltenham Town

The League Two side put on a good display against the Hammers tonight but slipped out of the Carabao Cup nonetheless.

Despite enjoying home advantage, as a result of West Ham being temporarily homeless, the Robins were unable to take advantage and lost to goals from Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew. Read on to find out what CTFC fans made of the game in your latest OV...

"West Ham fans' take on the match (kumb.com). It's nice to see they're not making disparaging comments about us like some of the bigger clubs have in the past and I hope the fans that attend enjoy visiting a proper lower league ground (although not the result, obviously). Neither set of fans on the whole seems confident of winning, which I'm frankly amazed by given they're 3 leagues above us. Saw a couple of posts saying 'this should be an easy win, but we're West Ham' - seems to be the same mentality we have a lot of the time..."

"Fair play, they were the better team. At 0-0 we were in it but those two quick goals killed the match. I thought Collins was best player on the park. Our MOTM - Cranston by a country mile. I know we debate back and forth about him but anyone watching tonight will be tempted to put their hand in their pocket (that most nesters will gladly take!). He played very well."

"Flatt at fault for the goals, everybody else did fine I thought. Thought Atangana was our best player tonight but I was overall pleased with the defence and we looked good - it's just a shame our goalkeeper isn't good enough."
- CTFC03

"Flatt showed again tonight he's simply not good enough. It's not about being a moaner, he was getting absolute pelters from the crowd tonight for simply not being good enough. At fault for both goals."

"Mo was pushed over. If that is not a penalty, what is? As far as the moaners are concerned the 'keeper was let down by Forster playing a WHU attacker onside for the first and complete absence of defence for the second. What is he supposed to do when exposed like that?"
- Oldun

"These are Premier League strikers. Give them time and space to roll a ball into the corner and it takes more than a chubby Conference winner like Phillips to save them. Was far to easy for them to find that time and space, poor defending all round."

"Happy with tonight. Much improved from Saturday. Very solid looking and down threat going forward. Few tweaks and we are set."

"Regardless of the opposition, the lads dug deep and did themselves proud, another 40+ games like that in the league please. I've still got question marks over Pell. Oxford was class. I hope the club and GJ do what's right. A confident keeper will instill confidence into our inexperienced defence."
