West Ham have drawn Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The two clubs, who famously met in the first ever FA Cup Final to be staged at Wembley Stadium back in 1923 will meet again at the Olympic Stadium in ther week commencing 18 September.

The two clubs last met in the same competition - albeit one known as the Carling Cup at the time - back in 2009, when Wanderers won a third round tie at the Reebok Stadium 3-1 after extra time.

Prior to that, Bolton also enjoyed the upper hand in 2005 when knocking the Hammers out of the competition with a 1-0 win and on the previous meeting in November 1994, when Wanderers won 3-1 at the Boleyn Ground.

But rather than emulate any of the above, West Ham will be hoping to repeat their successes in the two club's first meetings in the League Cup back in January 1968 and January 1969, when Ron Greenwood's side knocked Wanderers out in successive seasons with 4-1 and 7-2 wins.

The full third round draw was as follows:

West Brom v Manchester City
Everton v Sunderland
Leicester v Liverpool
Manchester Utd v Burton
Brentford v Norwich
Wolves v Bristol Rovers
Burnley v Leeds
Arsenal v Doncaster
Bristol City v Stoke
Reading v Swansea
Aston Villa v Middlesbrough
Chelsea v Nottingham Forest
West Ham Utd v Bolton
Crystal Palace v Huddersfield
Tottenham v Barnsley or Derby
Bournemouth v Brighton
