Championship club Birmingham are trying to secure Hammers target Jack Wilshere on loan for the rest of the season.
The West Ham-supporting Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move to the Olympic Stadium for some time, although West Ham are still to make an official approach for the 25-year-old Arsenal player. And that has allowed former Hammers boss Harry Redknapp, currently in charge at St Andrew's to step in and attempt to stage something of a coup by persuading Wilshere to drop a division.
